Haris Medunjanin is a footballer from Bosnia and Herzegovina, currently playing for Gaziantepspor. He has double citizenship (Dutch and Bosnian) He was born in 1985 in Sarajevo, SFR Yugoslavia, and passed through the youth ranks of Swift Atletiek, AFC'34 and AZ Alkmaar. In 2004, Medunjanin joined the senior team but wasn’t able to remain in the club and in 2006 was sent on loan to Sparta Rotterdam. Having returned to AZ he had one season there, not a prolific one, and left it for Spain, where he joined Real Valladolid.
At the end of 2009/10 they suffered relegation and in June 2010 Medunjanin moved to Israel signing a contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv for a fee of €1.8m. His official debut was in the UEFA Europa League qualifying match against Mogren and he managed to score a goal in that 2-0 win.
At the end of August Haris Medunjanin was loaned to Gaziantepspor, playing in the Süper Lig.
He was a part of the winning team in the 2006 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship, representing the Netherlands. In 2009, he switched to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team and plays for it since then.
