James Ward-Prowse is a midfielder of Southampton. He was born on 1 November 1994 in Portsmouth, England.
Despite it would have been logical if James had joined his local Portsmouth, the footballer’s junior career took off in the academy of Southampton, where he was lucky to spend nine years. Ward-Prowse had never left the youth system before he became the professional player. He was one of the best trainees of the academy and the junior squads he performed for. James managed to develop into a promising and solid midfielder, ready for professional football.
Ward-Prowse was offered to join the main team in 2011, and he accepted the offer by penning a contract with the club the same year. The footballer was not sent on loan, because the coaching staff decided it would be better for him to stay with the full squad at the training ground under the watchful supervision.
From 2010 till 2011, James was capped seven times for the England national U-17 team.
