Jens Langeneke began to play football at SV Lippstadt 08, where he spent time gaining experience right up till 2000. In that year Langeneke started his professional career at Oberhausen. Jens featured in 60 matches and scored 2 goals for three years spent at the club. In 2003 he moved to VfL Osnabrück, but stayed there only for one year before moving to Rot Weiss Ahlen. Jens played there for two seasons and then moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Despite the fact that Jens is a defender, he has netted a lot of goals during his career. For instance in the 2010/11 season Langeneke scored 8 goals, including 7 penalty shots. Due to that he became the team’s top goal-scorer. In total Jens appeared in 182 matches and netted more than 30 goals for Fortuna. In 2012 he managed to reach the first division of Bundesliga with his team. After that the contract with Fortuna was extended till 2013.
