A Portuguese footballer José Pedro Alves Salazar plays as an attacking midfielder for Alcochetense. He was born on 18 October 1978 in Montijo.
His junior career started in 1992 at the youth department of Benfica. In 1995, Pedro continued his studies at the academy of the local club Montijo, where he spent the last year of his junior career. In 1996, the club’s management promoted him to the main team. José spent the 1996/1997 season with the squad, making 24 appearances and scoring 2 goals.
In 1997, the footballer was scouted by Barreirense and a five-year contract was penned. At first, Pedro made only rare appearances for the team, but within some time he was given more playing time, netting 13 goals in 111 matches.
The following season was spent playing for Boavista and Ovarense. In 2003, José joined Vitória de Setúbal, making 30 appearances and netting 8 goals.
In 2004, a long-term contract with Belenenses was signed. The 2005/2006 season turned to be the most fortunate in the footballer’s career. He scored 8 goals and became the team’s top scorer. In total, he made 162 appearances and netted 30 goals for the squad.
In 2010, Pedro was welcomed back to his previous club - Vitória de Setúbal. Three years later Pedro completed a move to Alcochetense.
