Li Benjian is a Chinese midfielder, born on 5 March 1986 in Qingdao, China.
In 1997 Li started to study football mastery at the youth football academy of FC Guangdong Mingfeng. There he managed to develop his playing skills and get the experience needed for moving on to the professional level. Gradually moving through the ranks of youth squads at different levels he got enough playing practice to continued his rapid development and got ready to play at the professional level.
The club didn’t want to lose such a talent and signed a professional deal with the player in 2002. However, there he failed to become a regular first-team member and even spent some time on loan at FC Sinchi, where he featured in 14 games, hitting the net on 4 occasions.
In 2006 the midfielder was transferred to FC Tianjin Teda, which offered him an improved deal, which guaranteed him some playing time. There he was from time to time involved into the first-team features, doing his best, whenever he got a chance.
In 2008 he spent some time on loan at FC Jiangsu Sainty and helped the club to gain a promotion to the Chinese Super League with his 6 goals in 23 appearances. The next year he was loaned to another Chinese side FC Guangzhou Pharmaceutical, where he made 24 appearances during his stay at the club.
When he returned to Tianjin, the club’s new head coach made him first choice left-winger, and the player repaid him with playing a vital role in the club’s success throughout the glorious 2010 season.
