Liu Jindong is a Chinese footballer playing as a defender for a top-flight side Shandong Luneng. He was born on 9 December 1981 in Qingdao, China.
Liu began to play professional football with Shandong Luneng in 2000. He had a fruitful 2004 season as he recorded the Chinese FA Cup and the Chinese Super League Cup together with the club. Jindong went on with three Chinese Super League titles and one more Chinese FA Cup. Thanks to his terrific performances and leadership qualities, Liu Jindong was given a captain’s armband ahead of the 2010 season.
In 2003, Liu Jindong earned his first cap to the China national team in a match against Chile.
