Marco Di Vaio is an Italian forward who currently plays for Canadian club Montreal Impact. He was born on 15 July 1976 in Rome.
Marco started out his football grooming at a hometown club Lazio in 1991 reaching the first team in 1993. Later on, a promising footballer featured for Verona and Bari but his career really took up steam at Salernitana which he helped to break into Serie A successfully ending the 1997/98 season. During a two-year stint, Di Vaio netted 33 goals in 67 matches in Salernitana jersey. After three prominent seasons at Serie A Parma in between 1999 and 2002, Marco joined the Italian heavyweights Juventus. Despite huge first-team places competition, Di Vaio managed to perform in the 2003 UEFA Champions League Final which the Juve eventually lost on penalties to Milan.
In 2004, Marco moved to Spain to join La Liga champions Valencia, in 2006 he transferred to the French side Monaco and in the 2007/08 season Di Vaio found himself at Genoa. In between 2008 and 2012, he played for Bologna pulling off his debut season with 24 terrific goals. With Bologna Di Vaio enjoyed a tremendous surge in popularity as a high-key scorer. In 2012, he signed for Montreal Impact.
In between 2001 and 2004, Marco Di Vaio was a part of the Italy national team. He made his international debut in a friendly against Morocco and also featured for the UEFA Euro 2004.
