Mauro Cejas is an Argentine footballer who plays as a midfielder. Mauro was born on 24 August 1985 in Adrogué, Argentina.
Mauro spent his junior career at the academy of Atlético Temperley. In 2003 the footballer made it to the main team. Soon Cejas established himself as a squad regular, and in 2005 he had a successful trial with Newell’s Old Boys. On 3 April 2005 the footballer made his debut in the Argentine Primera División.
In the summer 2007 Cejas moved to Mexico where he joined Estudiantes Tecos. During the first season the football player was unable to cement a starting eleven position, that’s why in 2008 he was sold to Monterrey. In 2009 Mauro returned to Estudiantes Tecos. In the 2010/2011 campaign he became the top goal scorer of the club with 14 goals.
In 2011 Pachuca purchased the footballer for a fee of $4 million. Cejas finished the 2011/2012 campaign with 47 appearances and 9 goals for this Mexican side.
At the end of 2012 the player signed for Santos Laguna.
