Moussa Sissoko plays at the position of midfielder for Newcastle United. He was born on 16 August 1989 in Le Blanc-Mesnil, France.
The player’s career started in 1995 when he joined the youth team of Espérance Aulnay. Over a period of four years until 1999 he successfully studied at the club’s academy and also participated in the youth club matches. In 1999 Moussa moved to Red Star academy where he stayed until 2001. In 2001 the midfielder returned to his native academy of Espérance Aulnay. He studied at the academy till 2003 when he received a call-up from Toulouse. That club possessed an excellent academy and rich Ligue 1 experience. Besides it offered the challenge to his future football career. In 2007 after Sissoko graduated from the club’s academy he was offered the place in the first team.
In 2007 the player accepted that offer and signed his first professional contract with Toulouse. From the very start he became an effective element of midfield line. Since 2007 he featured in over 183 matches and netted 21 goals for the club. In 2013 Moussa made part of Newcastle United squad.
From 2005 till 2011 Moussa featured in 46 matches for the France national team at all levels and scored 3 goals. Since 2009 he has been capped three times for the national team.
