Nathan Ellington is a striker, born on 2 July 1981 in Bradford, England.
Nathan’s professional career took off in Walton & Hersham, when the footballer penned his first senior contract with the club and made several appearances during his début 1997/1998 season. In 1999, Ellington transferred to Bristol Rovers and managed to gain the head coach’s confidence in a short term, which helped him to get a regular place in the starting line-up. The striker featured in 116 matches and netted 35 goals for the team during three years.
In 2002, Nathan sealed a deal with Wigan Athletic and amassed 59 goals in 134 games for the new club during three seasons. In 2005, the footballer signed for West Bromwich Albion, but failed to adapt to the new conditions and fired only 15 goals in 68 fixtures during two years.
In 2007, Ellington put pen to paper of a contract with Watford, but failed to become the pivot. In 2008, the striker went on loan to Derby County, where he made 27 appearances and found the net three times during his spell. In 2010 and 2011, Nathan performed on temporary basis at Skoda Xanthi and Preston North End and scored nine goals in 35 matches for both clubs. In 2011, Ipswich Town secured the footballer’s services on permanent basis and saw him feature in 17 games. Later on he featured for Scunthorpe United, Crewe Alexandra and Southport.
