Neil Etheridge is a goalkeeper, born on 7 February 1990 in a London suburb.
Neil’s youth career began in the Chelsea academy, where he came at the age of 13. The young keeper performed for the U-15 squad for three years before moving to the U-17 team, but did not stay there for long. In 2006 Fulham landed Etheridge in their academy and he prepared for the pro-level during two years.
In 2008 Etheridge’s career went uphill after he signed a professional contract with ‘The Cottagers’. The goalkeeper was immediately sent to Leatherhead on a one-year loan deal. After the end of his loan spell, Neil returned to Fulham, but still did not manage to come on the pitch as a regular. That is why Etheridge was sent on another loan, this time to Charlton Athletic, where he spent a year, but performed as a second-choice keeper. Later on he had brief loan spells with Bristol Rovers and Crewe Alexandra. In the summer 2014 Etheridge was released from Fulham.
In 2005 Neil made one appearance for the England national U-16 squad. From 2008 he has been the main goalkeeper of the Philippines national team.
