Nicky Maynard is a striker of Cardiff City. He was born on 11 December 1986 in Winsford, England.
In 1994, Nicky joined the academy of Arsenal, but left it for the youth system of Crewe Alexandra the same year. It took the footballer 11 years to develop his skills and get ready for a professional start. In 2005, Maynard passed all the necessary tests and was given positive reviews from the coaching staff, which helped him to pen his first senior contract with the club. In 2006, the striker went on loan to Witton Albion and netted two goals in seven fixtures before returning to his parent Crewe Alexandra, where he took his tally to 32 goals in 59 fixtures by 2008.
Nicky’s workmanship and scoring flair drew the attention of many English teams. In 2008, he sealed a deal with Bristol City and fired 45 goals in 124 matches during three years and a half.
In January 2012, the footballer put pen to paper of a contract with West Ham United, but spent only half a year with ‘The Hammers’ and found the net two times in 14 fixtures. In the summer 2012, Maynard’s services were secured by Cardiff City.
In the second half of 2013/2014 season Maynard played on loan at Wigan Athletic.
