Niclas Füllkrug was born on 9 February 1993 in Hannover, Germany.
Niclas’s youth career took off at the youth team of TuS Ricklingen, when he was 4 years old. During 8 seasons the young footballer scored more than 150 goals, which attracted the attention of five renowned European clubs. However, in 2005 he preferred to join Sportfreunde Ricklingen. Having played at the club for a year, Füllkrug moved to SV Werder Bremen, where he soon started his professional career.
The player delivered 17 goals in 22 games for the U-17 team. The following year he netted 12 goals in 17 matches for the U-19 squad. Niclas didn’t lose the skill in the U-23 team and was promoted to the professional team. He was supposed to make his debut on 21 January 2012 in the match versus Kaiserslautern, but that didn’t happen. Füllkrug’s pro-football debut came on 19 January 2012 in the match versus Bayer 04, when the footballer appeared as a substitute in the 63rd minute. On 9 February 2012 Niclas penned a professional contract with Werder Bremen, running until 2015.
In 2013 the youngster joined Greuther Furth on loan.
Füllkrug’s international debut came in 2010 with the Germany U-18 team. Later, the player was capped for the U-19 team, where he showed an outstanding play firing 4 goals in 4 matches.
