Oleg Kuzmin is a full back for Rubin Kazan. He was born on 9 May, 1981 in Moscow.
He is a graduate of Spartak Moscow, and a player of the club’s youth team from 1997 to 2000. In Spartak-2 Kuzmin was considered an indispensable back, while in the first team of The Red-Whites he couldn’t gain a foothold and started mere 1 match in the 2000/01 season. To get at least some match practice Kuzmin moved to Uralan Elista, where he played from 2001 to 2003, featuring in the famous match against Bryansk. Due to financial problems Uralan had only 9 players, with the goalkeeper being used as a central striker. Naturally, this situation did not suit Kuzmin. In 2003 he moved to Chernomorets on loan, where he started 7 matches.
From 2004 to 2008 Oleg played for FC Moscow, earning a permanent spot in the first team, and becoming a pillar of the The Citizens’ defense line. He made a total of 115 appearances and scored 6 goals for the club. In the 2009/10 season Kuzmin played for Lokomotiv Moscow, and started a lot of matches. Since 2010 Kuzmin defends the colors of Rubin Kazan.
In 2002 and 2003 Oleg Kuzmin played for Olympic (U-23) Russia and won 8 caps there.
In 2009 Oleg was called up to play for Russian national team in a 2010 World Cup qualification match against Azerbaijan.
