Paul Robinson is a goalkeeper of Blackburn Rovers. He was born on 15 October 1979 in Beverley, England.
Paul started to play football in the academy of York City and stayed there till 1996, when Leeds United scouts took an interest in the young footballer and invited him to a trial. Robinson managed to impress the coaching staff and earned a place in the youth system of the club, where he stayed from 1996 till 1998.
In 1998, Paul penned a professional contract and made 95 appearances for the team during six years. He did not manage to become a pivot, but contributed to Leeds’ achievements greatly.
In 2004, the footballer transferred to London side Tottenham and spent four fruitful years there. He gained the head coach’s confidence and became a first-choice keeper, who featured in 137 games and netted one goal from 2004 till 2008.
In 2008, Robinson completed a move to Blackburn Rovers, where he continues to perform as a first-choice goalie up till now. The player took part in 160 matches for ‘The Riversiders’ as of December 2012.
From 1999 till 2002, Paul made 14 appearances for the England national U-21 squad. From 2003 till 2010, the footballer was capped 41 times for the senior national team.
