A Brazilian footballer Carlos Renato de Abreu plays as a midfielder for Flamengo. He was born on 9 June 1978.
Carlos started trying his hand at professional football in 1998 at Marcílio Dias. In 1999, he moved to Joinville, but in a year he signed for União Barbarense.
Finally, in 2000, he was scouted by Guarani and his career got a full-scale start. The 2000/2001 season was lined with 22 appearances made and 2 goals scored. In 2001, a five-year contract was penned with Corinthians. Carlos together with the team twice became the winner of São Paulo State League (in 2001 and 2003). In 2002, the club was honored with Copa do Brasil.
In 2005, the midfielder signed for Flamengo, where he managed two fabulous seasons. Together with the squad he was awarded with the 2006 Copa do Brasil. And in 2007, he won Taça Guanabara.
The following three years were spent playing at first for Al-Nasr and later on for Al-Shabab. In 2010, Renato returned to Brazil and was welcomed back to Flamengo. In 2011, his squad won Taça Guanabara and Taça Rio.
In 2011, the footballer got his first cap for the Brazil national team.
