Roderick Jefferson Gonçalves Miranda was born in 1991 in Odivelas, Portugal. He is a Benfica’s footballer and plays as a central defender.
A Portuguese football player, he started training in Odivelas Futebol Clube. At the age of nine Roderick joined Benfica’s youth academy and, having graduated, he went on playing with Benfica. Sometimes he appeared for the first team but mostly he played with the reserves.
Just before the 2011/12 season Roderick moved to a Swiss side Servette on loan. This team was guided by Benfica’s former player João Alves. In July 2012 Roderick moved to the La Liga side Deportivo de La Coruña, where he spent a six-months loan. In the summer 2013 Miranda was loaned to Rio Ave.
Internationally, he represented Portugal on Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 levels.
