Ruud Boymans is a striker of AZ. He was born on 28 April 1989 in Born, Netherlands.
Ruud’s professional career took off in Fortuna Sittard after he graduated from the academy of the club. On 7 December 2007, at the age of 18, the player made his senior début in the match against RBC Roosendaal. The striker found the net for the first time in the game versus HFC Haarlem two weeks later, on 21 December, and propelled his team to the 1-0 victory.
In December 2008, Boymans penned a two-year contract with VVV-Venlo and started his performance for the new club from the beginning of the 2009/2010 season. The footballer’s first appearance for ‘The Good Old’ came on 30 October 2009 in the home goalless draw with NAC Breda. Ruud netted his first goal for the team only five months later, on 28 March 2010, in the home 2-4 loss to PSV Eindhoven. The footballer featured in 46 matches and amassed 15 goals during his spell at VVV-Venlo.
On 27 June 2011, Boymans sealed a four-year deal with AZ. The footballer wore number 9 shirt for the first time the following day he put pen to paper of the contract, on 28 June, in the Europa League qualifier against Czech side FK Baumit Jablonec, which ended in a 2-0 victory. Ruud took part in six games and fired one goal during one season with the new club. In 2013 Ruud was sent on loan to N.E.C. and later on to Willem II.
