Samuel Eto'o. Biography
Samuel Eto'o is a Cameroonian football player (born on 10 March, 1981).
After 3 seasons at Real Madrid, mostly spent out on loan, Samuel moved to Mallorca, where he established himself as one of the best goleadors of the club, scoring 48 goals in 120 matches. Such a talented player couldn’t go unnoticed and in 2004 the Cameroonian was acquired by FC Barcelona.
Mallorca top scorer immediately became a star at the new club. In 145 matches for the Spanish giants Eto’o netted an outstanding 108 goals. As part of Barcelona Samuel was threefold winner of La Liga, twofold winner of Supercopa de España and twofold champion of UEFA Champions League.
In 2005 Samuel Eto’o was involved in an infamous incident, becoming a subject of racism and trying to leave the field saying ‘No más.’
In the summer of 2009 Samuel moved to Italian Serie A side Internazionale. As part of Inter Samuel won Serie A and UEFA Champions League in the 2009/10 season, Coppa Italia in 2010, 2011, and other tournaments.
In August 2011 it became known that Internazionale is preparing to sell Eto’o to Anzhi Makhachkala. A bit later the Cameroonian star signed for the Russian club on a 3-year contract and became the highest-paid football player in the world.
In August 2013, after a financial crisis in the club, Eto'o was offered to leave the club as a free agent and he joined his former manager Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.
In the summer 2014 he left the club.
From 1997 to 2011 Samuel Eto’o played for Cameroon national team, with a total of 109 caps and 53 goals.
