Shaun Barker is a defender of Derby County. He was born on 19 September 1982 in Trowell, England.
Shaun spent last years of his youth career in the academy of Rotherham United. The footballer perfected his skills and performed for the junior squad of the club till 2000, when he was offered to pen his first professional contract. Barker accepted the offer and performed for the team till 2006. The defender’s career was not very steady, because he failed to become a regular and made occasional appearances at first. However, the head coach gave Shaun more playing time and saw him net seven goals in 123 fixtures for the club during six years.
In 2006, the footballer moved to Blackpool, where he reached the new level of performance due to clinching a place in the starting line-up at once. Barker took part in 134 matches and fired five goals for the new team till 2009.
In 2009, the defender sealed a deal with Derby County. Shaun’s solid and steady performance earned him a regular spot in the starting XI, and the footballer found the net six times in 98 games as of December 2012.
