Siaka Tiéné plays in the position of a left defender for Montpellier. He was born on 22 February 1982 in the former capital of Cote d’Ivoire Abidjan.
Siaka’s youth career started at local club ASEC Mimosas from Cote d’Ivoire Premier Soccer League. The footballer studied at the club’s academy and also played for the youth team.
In 1999 Tiéné was awarded a professional contract with ASCE Mimosas. He spent four years in the native club before receiving an offer of transfer.
In 2003 an Ivorian footballer earned a call-up to the Mamelodi Sundowns FC from the South African Soccer League. The football player accepted the offer signing a contract with the club according to which he played with the team until 2005. Over a period of two seasons Siaka frequently participated in the club’s matches thus making 46 appearances and scoring 14 goals.
In 2005 Tiéné was called up to French club AS Saint-Étienne. It was a great honour for the defender as he was given an opportunity to play at a higher level. The football player signed a three-year contract with the club. In the first season the footballer seldom appeared on the pitch as the competition in the team was rather tense. Mostly the head coach trusted experienced footballers of the major squad.
In the summer of 2006 the club resolved to loan Siaka to Stade Reims where he played during the 2006/07 season. In a year the footballer featured in 18 matches and netted 3 goals.
After Tiéné’s return to Saint-Étienne he periodically appeared in club matches until he received an offer to transfer to another French club.

In 2010 the defender’s play caught the eye of Paris Saint-Germain. Parisian club took decisive measures in order to transfer the footballer to their club and signed a lasting contract with him according to which he played for the club until 2013. Then he switched for Montpellier.
Since 2000 Siaka Tiéné has been called up to Côte d’Ivoire national football team 85 times.
