Steven Caldwell is a defender of Birmingham City. He was born on 12 September 1980 in Stirling, Scotland.
In 1998, Steven started his professional career in Newcastle United. The footballer netted one goal in 28 fixtures during three years and went on loan to Blackpool in January 2001. In the summer the same year, Caldwell sealed a six-month loan deal with Bradford City and made five appearances before the management of the club decided to extend his spell for another half a year.
In 2004, the defender was loaned out to Leeds United, where he fired one goal in 13 matches during the second half of the 2003/2004 season. The same year, Steven transferred to Sunderland and found the net four times in 76 games for the club during three seasons.
In 2007, the footballer completed a move to Burnley and kicked five goals in 104 fixtures for the team till 2010, when he put pen to paper of a contract with Wigan Athletic. Caldwell managed to make only ten appearances for the club during one season. In the summer 2011, Birmingham City secured the defender’s services and saw him score one goal in 77 games as of January 2013.
In 2013 Caldwell was loaned to Toronto FC.
From 2001, Steven has been capped 12 times for the Scotland national squad.
