Steven N’Zonzi is a midfielder of Stoke City. He was born on 15 December 1988 in Colombes, France.
In 1999 Steven’s career took off in the academy of PSG, where he joined one of youth teams of the club. In 2002 N’Zonzi drew the attention of CA Lisieux and was invited on a trial. The young footballer impressed the coaching staff and moved to the youth system of the new club. Steven developed his skills of a midfielder during one year before joining the academy of Caen in 2003, where he stayed for another year. In 2004, the player moved to the youth system of Beauvais, which he left for the academy of Amiens SC in 2005. It took the French footballer two years to get ready for the performance at the professional level.
In 2007 N’Zonzi penned a senior contract with Amiens and his appearances became more frequent. Steven played at a very important position, the position of a defensive midfielder, and he tried to demonstrate his outstanding skills at the first opportunity. The footballer made 34 appearances and netted one goal for the club during two years, which drew the attention of various European clubs.
In the summer 2009, N’Zonzi finalized a move to Blackburn Rovers on a long-term deal, which made the player feel more confident about the intentions of the new team. After the transfer to ‘The Riversiders’, Steven became an anchor player at his position in the midfield and fired five goals in 86 games for the club during three years. In 2012 the footballer tied up a deal with Stoke City.
From 2009 till 2010, N’Zonzi was capped six times for the France national U-21 team.
