Taye Taiwo is a Nigerian left back for Bursaspor. He was born on 16 April 1985 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Taiwo started out as a professional footballer at Gabros in 2003, later joining Lobi Stars. In 2005 he was transferred to the French side Olympique de Marseille. On 21 March 2010, Taiwo scored the winning goal in a fixture against Olympique Lyonnais. On 17 April 2010, he also netted the winning goal in the game between Marseille and US Boulogne. On 23 April 2011, the footballer notched the only goal in the match against Montpellier HSC, helping his team to win the 2011 Coupe de la Ligue. During his six-year stay at the club he made 192 appearances and scored 17 goals.
When Taiwo’s contract with Olympique expired, he penned a contract with A.C. Milan in 2011. On 24 September 2011 Taye made his debut appearance for Milan in a home 1-0 win over Cesena. He featured in 4 games for the Italian side, later joining Queens Park Rangers on loan. Taye registered 15 appearances and scored 1 goal for QPR.
In the summer of 2012, Taye Taiwo was loaned to Dynamo Kyiv from the Ukrainian Premier League. One season later the Nigerian joined a Turkish outfit Bursaspor.
Taiwo is a regular international for the Nigeria national team since 2004.
