Yuto Nagatomo is a defender for Internazionale. He was born on 12 September 1986 in Ehime, Japan.
Yuto began his youth career in the early 2000s after he had entered Higashi Fukuoka High School. For 2 years at the academy Yuto made every effort to elaborate his skills and successfully played with the club’s youth team. In 2004 Nagatomo switched academies and moved to Meiji University. During 2 years of bright performance at Meiji football academy Yuto had been one of the best wards and was later scouted by demanding F.C. Tokyo.
In 2008 Yuto accepted F.C. Tokyo’s offer and signed his first professional contract. Nagatomo managed to become one of the club’s key players due to his ability to quickly adapt. After two seasons with F.C. Tokyo the young defender totaled 5 goals in 72 matches.
In 2010, after short talks, the Japanese was transferred to Italian Serie B Cesena. Yuto entered a completely new stage of his career and tried to prove Italian Cesena that he deserved a place in the starting lineup. In the 2010/11 season Nagatomo started Cesena matches quite frequently although didn’t manage to rise up and become a key player at the club. During the season Nagatomo made 16 appearances.
In 2011 Yuto continued his successful march through Italian Serie A. The next club in Nagatomo’s career was Internazionale with which he signed a long-term contract. From January 2011 Yuto has made frequent appearances in the Nerazzurri starting lineup with 62 games and 4 goals in total so far.
Since 2008 Yuto Nagatomo has been called up to play for Japan national team with 49 caps and 3 goals.
