Zhang Yonghai is a Chinese defender, born on March 15, 1979 in Panjin, China.
The player started his academy scholarship with Liaoning Youth in 1998. Having shown much promise at youth level, he was trusted into the senior game in 2001. Despite stiff competition, Zhang Yonghai established himself as a regular starter. In 2005 he enjoyed a brief loan with Shenzhen Jianlibao. The solid defender gained a wealth of experience during his loan stint. Back in Liaoning FC, his displays just kept getting better. In total, he appeared in 118 matches for the club.
Zhang Yonghai took the next step in his career with a move to Beijing Guoan in 2007. In the 2008 campaign the Chinese defender was installed as a vice-captain. A year later he helped his team claim the Chinese Super League title. In 2012 the club’s administrators decided to send him on loan to Guangdong Sunray Cave.
In 2014 Zhang moved to Beijing Baxy.
During the 2005-2008 period he won 9 caps and managed one goal for China.
