Malmö Fotbollförening is a football club in Sweden, located in Malmö. It was created in 1910 and competed in the league held in the region of Scania. When Allsvenskan was formed in 1924, Malmö FF began to compete in Division 2 and in 1931 they advanced to the top division. They were relegated after breaking regulations in 1934 and in two seasons promoted back. From 1929 and till 1974 Eric Persson was their chairman and during his stay at his position the team was crowned league champion ten times.
The first league title came in 1943/44. Since then the team was the domestic title winner in 1948/49, 1949/50, 1950/51, 1952/53, 1965, 1967, 1970, 1971, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 2004 and 2010. Between 1944 and 1989 Malmö FF won 14 Svenska Cupen titles.
In the 1978/79 season the team was runner-up of the European Cup, losing to Nottingham Forest 0-1, and that’s been their beast European result.
Swedbank Stadion in Malmö is the team’s home ground. It has a capacity of 24,000.
