Shirak FC is an Armenian team from the city of Gyumri founded in 1958.
The club is considered to be one of the oldest teams in Armenia. During their early days the team competed in the Soviet First League and joined the Armenia Premier League in its inaugural 1992 season. Shirak got off to a flying start winning the title already in their debut season in the top flight. They welcomed another two in 1994 and 1999 but have never hit those same heights again. However, they welcomed three Armenian Super Cups to their trophy cabinet and claimed their first Armenian Cup in the 2011/12 season. All these achievements make Shirak the second most titled club in Armenia. Due to their prominent league results, Shirak have got a ticket to several UEFA competitions, namely they took part in the Champions League, Europa League, Intertoto Cup.
Shirak has established itself as a feeder club for many outstanding players who then moved to play abroad. Among them are Artur Petrosyan and Harutyun Vardanyan. The team play their home matches at Gyumri City Stadium with the capacity of 3,000 seats.
