Andy Reid is a midfielder of Nottingham Forrest. He was born on 29 July 1982 in Dublin, Ireland.
Andy’s professional career took off in Nottingham Forest after the footballer penned a contract with the club. Reid was given a chance to come on the pitch with the main squad several times during his début season, and the player clinched a place in the starting line-up. He always showed solid performance and was especially appreciated for being instrumental both in the attack and defense. Andy made 144 appearances and amassed 21 goals from 2000 till 2005.
In 2005, the footballer completed a move to London side Tottenham Hotspur, but featured only in 26 matches and netted one goal for the new team during one season. In the summer 2006, Reid sealed a two-year deal with Charlton Athletic and fired eight goals in 38 fixtures for the club during his spell.
In the summer 2008, the midfielder transferred to Sunderland, where he made occasional appearances during three seasons. In 2010, Andy went on loan to Sheffield United and found the net two times in nine games for the temporary team before returning to his parent club. The footballer scored four goals in 68 matches for Sunderland and finalized a move to Blackpool in 2011. Reid featured only in five fixtures for ‘The Seasiders’ till the summer 2011, when he put pen to paper of a contract with Nottingham Forest. The midfielder made a confident start in the 2011/2012 season and skipped only several games. Andy made 59 appearances and went on to net five times as of December 2012.
From 2002 till 2003, the player took part in 15 matches and contributed four goals for the Republic of Ireland national U-21 squad. From 2003, Reid has been capped 27 times and chipped in four goals for the senior national team.
