Artjoms Rudņevs is a Latvian footballer who currently plays as a striker for HSV. He was born on January 13, 1988 in Daugavpils.
Rudņevs launched his career with FC Daugava. Until 2005 he was part of the club`s youth set-up. In 2006 Artjoms was promoted to the senior squad where he hit 7 goals in 33 appearances. The club managed to finish fifth. After FC Daugava secured a win in the Latvian Football Cup in 2008, the promising striker clinched a deal with Zalaegerszegi TE. He had three solid seasons in ZTE`s colours, netting 20 goals in 30 league outings. He helped his team reach the Hungarian Cup final.
On July 8, 2010 Rudņevs made his Europa League debut in the first-round qualifier against KF Tirana. Unfortunately his team suffered an aggregate defeat. Later on, he completed a move to the Polish club Lech Poznań where he continued participating in European competitions. He made a name for himself in September 2010 when he scored a hat-trick at Juventus.
On May 8, 2012 Artjoms Rudņevs signed a four-year deal with Hamburger SV. The contract runs until June 30 2016. The Latvian striker earned his first national cap in 2008 against Estonia. That match ended in a 1-1 draw. Rudņevs has played a total of 18 matches and has scored a solitary goal for the Latvia national football team.
