Ashley Darel Richards was born on 12 April 1991 in Swansea, Wales.
Ashley emerged through the academy at local Swansea City, which he joined at early age and where performed for the youth team of the club till 2009.
In 2009 Richards began his professional career by penning a contract with ‘The Swans’. In August 2009, the footballer made his début, coming on as a substitute. Despite Ashley was mainly used as a reserve player, he managed to make more than 30 appearances and showed encouraging performance, which gave many pundits the right to say he had radiant future. The footballer was capped for the Wales national youth team at the age of 16 and continues to perform for his national squad up till now, which is another evidence of the footballer’s promising tomorrow. In 2013 Ashley had a loan spell at Crystal Palace and later on with Huddersfield.
In 2007 Richards took part in ten games of the Wales U-17 team and in 11 matches of the U-19 squad in 2008/2009. In 2009 Ashley received a call-up to the U-21 team, where he made 15 appearances.
From 2012 the footballer has been capped for the senior national squad.
