Cuco Martina is a defender of Twente. He was born on 25 September 1989 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The footballer has dual citizenship – Dutch and Curaçaon.
Cuco began to play football in RBC Roosendaal, where he made his début on 24 October 2008 in the home 2-1 loss to Cambuur Leeuwarden. One year later, on 30 November 2009, the defender netted his first goal in the away 3-1 victory over FC Eindhoven.
In July 2011, the footballer penned a three-year contract with RKC Waalwijk, where he continues to perform at the position of a right defender. Cuco’s first appearance for the new club came on 19 August 2011 in the 2-0 victory over Roda. The player took part in 41 league fixtures for Waalwijk before completing a switch for Twente.
In September 2011, Marina was called up to the Curaçao national team for the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. The defender was capped six times for his national squad.
