Danilo Pereira is a midfielder of Maritimo. He was born on 9 September 1991 in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.
Danilo’s youth career took off in 2002, when the footballer was admitted to the academy of Arsenal 72. Pereira trained with the club during three years before drawing the attention of Estoril-Praia scouts, who won the midfielder over to their youth system. Danilo stayed with the new team till 2008, when he was offered a move to Portuguese side Benfica. From 2008 till 2010, the footballer learned football in all its minutest details in one of the best academies of Portugal and got ready to a professional start.
In the summer 2010, Italian side Parma secured Pereira’s services on a long-term contract. The midfielder took part in four fixtures for the club during the 2010/2011 season and was sent loan to Aris FC, where he featured in five games and found the net two times during his temporary spell.
In the summer 2012, Danilo went on a season loan to Dutch side Roda JC. After returning from the spell, Pereira signed a permanent contract with Maritimo.
From 2009, Pereira was capped 41 times and contributed three goals for the Portugal national U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 squads.
