Fernando Llorente – a Spanish footballer of Basque origin born on February 26, 1985. He plays as a striker for Juventus and the Spain national team.
In 1997 joined Athletic Bilbao. Before that Fernando tried his hand at amateur youth teams such as River Ebro and Funes.
Since 2003 Fernando played for CD Baskonia and in 2004 moved to Athletic’s second team. In 2005/2006 season made his team début.
Throughout the first season in a new team Fernando played brilliantly. The club management signed a rather tough contract with the player in order to keep him with the club. Featuring in 20 games during his debut season, Llorente hit the Basque rivals’ goal 6 times.
In the subsequent seasons Fernando went out on the field in the first team squad. The footballer had played 259 matches and scored about 100 goals for the club.
In 2013 Llorente joined Juventus on a free transfer.
Since 2003 Llorente played for Spanish youth football teams, and in 2008 he was invited to the national team for the first time. Being the member of the national team he has scored 7 goals in 13 games. With the team he went to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which took place in South Africa, and helped Spain to win the champion’s title.
