Hakan Özmert is a French-Turkish midfielder currently playing for the Turkish Süper Lig side Karabukspor. He was born on 3 June 1985 in Nantes, France.
Hakan was groomed at Nantes youth system from 1991 to 1998. From 1998 to 2003 he was a member of Akyazıspor youth team.
In 2003 Özmert began his professional career at Sakaryaspor. In 2005 the player was released on loan to Karşıyaka. From 2007 to 2010 Hakan played at Antalyaspor amassing 6 goals in 62 appearances. The 2010/11 season was spent at Karabükspor where Özmert played 31 league games. In the 2011/12 season Hakan featured for Orduspor.
Then the spells with Kasımpaşa and Karabukspor followed.
Hakan made his international debut for the Turkey national U-16 team in a match against Swiss on 10 April 2001. On 20 May 2002 the footballer scored his first goal in a 2-2 draw against Russia.
