Richard Dunne is an Irish back. He was born on 21 September 1979 in Tallaght, Ireland.
The player made his début in professional football in 1996, when he penned a five-year contract with Everton led by Joseph Royle at that time. However, the back performed for the reserve squad during the 1996/1997 season.
In the autumn 2000, Manchester City secured the services of the footballer. In 2004 Dunne extended his contract till 2012 and managed to get the captain’s armband in 2006. The Irish player made about 300 appearances and netted seven goals for the club during his spell.
In 2009 Richard completed a move to Aston Villa, where he continued to perform up till 2013.
Aged 33, Dunne signed another contract with Queens Park Rangers for the season 2013/2014.
Dunne was capped about 80 times and contributed eight goals for the Republic of Ireland national team. He started his international career at the age of 20.
