Aston Villa Bent fit for clash with Liverpool

Aston Villa’s hopes of avoiding relegation this season have been given a huge boost as Darren Bent managed to shake off what was considered a cruel foot injury.

Bent was stretchered off the pitch as he suffered an injury at the training session, and Lambert feared he could be ruled out for the remainder of the season.

However the 29-year-old former England international has quickly regained fitness and is ready to take part in crucial game against Liverpool on Sunday. Aston Villa Paul Lambert confirmed: “Darren is back — he’s had a little flu bug for the last few days too but he is OK now. He got a kick — one of the lads caught his foot — and it was a bit tender when he tried to kick the ball. It could have been worse, but he is fine now.”
