Atlético Madrid eye permanent deal for Chelsea loanee Courtois

Daily Mail reports Atlético Madrid are seriously considering the possibility of making a permanent move for Chelsea loanee Thibaut Courtois at the end of the season.

Chelsea are facing the threat of losing their number two goalkeeper who is considered as a long-term replacement to Petr Cech. Chelsea have signed the young goalie from Genk a year and a half ago and have loaned him out to Atlético Madrid to give him the share of first-team football necessary for his development. However after the string of impressive performances Courtois has rapidly become a cult figure at the the Vicente Calderón and the Colchoneros are determined to try and secure his services in summer.

Anxious Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has instructed goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon to fly to Madrid and hold the negotiations about Courtois’ future. The Blues may be willing to offer the 20-year-old Belgian an improved contract to hold onto him.
