Barcelona Correia extended his stay at the club

Barcelona defender Adriano Correia put pen to paper on a new long-term deal that will keep him at Camp Nou for up to 2017.

Adriano joined Barca from Sevilla for €9.5million in 2010 and quickly became an important first-team player. Recent speculation linked the 28-year-old Brazilian with a move away from Camp Nou, but he effectively put an end to the rumours by extending his stay with the Spanish giants. The Blaugrana have decided to include a huge release clause of 90million euros into new contract, reflecting his importance for them.

The statement on official Barcelona web-site read: “FC Barcelona have agreed to terms with Adriano Correia to renew the player’s contract for four additional seasons, through June 30 of 2017. The player’s buyout clause is set at 90million euros (£77m).”
