Borussia’s Gundogan dreams of playing in England or Spain

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan admitted he would like to join either England or Spanish side in the future however said he has no plans of leaving Germany at the moment.

Gundogan has impressed both fans and pundits this season with the series of excellent performances, helping his side to reach the Champions League semi-final. Several top European sides are said to be interested in landing the 22-year-old Turk, who has been an ever-present in Borussia this season, making 43 appearances in all competitions.

Gundogan revealed he would like to move either to Spain or England, if he decides to leave the club, however claimed he remains committed to his club. He said: “It is not reprehensible to answer such questions (of a future career in England or Spain) with ‘yes’. Everyone has a childhood dream on what he would like to achieve one day and my dream always was to play in England or Spain.

“I am 100 per cent sure that I will still be with Dortmund next season. Rumours do not really affect me. I still have two more years on my contract with Dortmund and I know what I have at this incredible club. It is very likely that I will sign a new contract, although it obviously depends on how talks go,” he added.
