Brest dismiss coach Chauvin

The French club part ways with the tactician after a defeat to Lille.

Brest dropped to the 18th place in the standings after losing 1-2 to Lille on Sunday. The match was a third straight defeat at home, as the team are two points from safety with eight games left to play.

“The club have failed to win any home game in Ligue 1 since November 17 and we are threatened with relegation,” stated the club’s chairman Michel Guyot after the decision was made.

Chauvin took charge of the club at the end of last season, taking over Alex Dupont who led Brest into the top flight in 2010.
