Continental weekend fixtures

If you fancy seeing some of the best football on the other side of the English Channel, here is a short guide for the coming weekend.

Match of the week
Undoubtedly, the “Derby d’Italia” between Internazionale and Juventus. Some consider football in Apennines to be in decline, but this classic match is absolutely something to enjoy. The champions have strenghthened the squad with prolific Argentine striker Carlos Tevez and Spanish outcast Fernando Llorente, while Inter are now guided by an Argentine maestro Walter Mazzarri who had been lured from Napoli to get the Nerazzurri back to limelight. His team have started the season with two victories and are yet to concede a goal. Despite Juventus being favorites, one should not forget it was the club from Milan that stopped the incredible invincible Old Lady two years ago.

Elsewhere in Europe
Bayern Munich will have a tough test from Hannover, who lie just one point behind Guardiola’s side. They should also keep in mind the Tuesday’s clash with Russian champions CSKA Moscow in the opening round of the Champions League.

Real Madrid are set for a voyage to Villarreal with Gareth Bale in the squad. The Yellow Submarine have won all of their three matches on the return to the top flight and the Welshman’s debut for Galacticos is not going to be an easy one.
