Damiao ruled out Tottenham move

Daily Mail reports that Internacional striker Leandro Damiao has dismissed rumous linking him with a move to Tottenham.

The Spurs were thought to be close on signing the 23-year-old Brazil international before the end of the transfer window. However they saw their final £17 million offer rejected by the Brazilian club.

Despite Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas being adamant he lands the striker in summer, Damiao ruled out the possibility of moving away from Internacional. He said he is flattered by the Spurs interest but is willing to remain at the club, stating “President Giovanni Luigi knows I always wanted to stay at Internacional, regardless of any offers that could come. I certainly thank Tottenham (for their interest), they are a big club in Europe, but my focus is on Inter. I hope to help Inter for a long time, I have a long contract and I am very happy and focused.”

Damiao has made 131 appearance scoring 75 goals for his club.
