Gomez picked up thigh injury

The German forward will miss the match against Kazakhstan.

Ahead of 2014 World Cup qualifying fixture Germany lost Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez who sustained a thigh strain during training session. The team’s medical staff stated the player is out from the fixture and will rest for a few days.

The absence of the striker leaves Joachim Low with only Lukas Podolski who can play as a forward. Miroslav Klose misses the fixture due to injury, while Bayer Leverkusen man Stefan Kiessling did not receive a call-up to the national side.
