Hasselbaink unveiled as new Royal Antwerp coach
Former Chelsea, Leeds and Atletico Madrid forward Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been appointed as the new coach of Belgian second division club Royal Antwerp.
Hasselbaink, who was part of the coaching staff at Nottingham Forrest before moving to Belgium, agreed a one-year contract. The board expects the Dutchman to lead the club to the top-flight.
The 41-year-old said: “This was a very attractive proposition to begin my career as a coach. Our first goal is to go to for promotion and then continue to build. Antwerp is a wonderful club that for several years has been performing below expectations, it is a sleeping giant. Our hard work starts today.”
