Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano has no doubts Messi deserves the Ballon d’Or.

The player told the Spanish press that if he had to vote, he would put Messi first, Xavi and Iniesta following Barcelona super star.

Mascherano claimed things were going well for him in Barcelona and he saw no obstacles to signing a new contract. The player repeated that he wanted to stay in the team and to play in it for many years.

The Azulgrana player appreciated the offer to renew the contract. He revealed that after moving from Liverpool to Barcelona his salary actually lowered, but he only benefited from that playing for the best team in the world. The Argentina midfielder said that he did not have specific goals with Barca, expressing his wish to remain in the team as long as possible.

The player also stated he was comfortable playing as a centre-back with Barcelona, although he preferred for most of his career to be central midfielder.
