Liverpool, Arsenal chase Swansea Williams

Daily Mail reports that Liverpool and Arsenal step up chase for Swansea defender Ashley Williams.

The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has instructed his scouts to watch the 28-year-old Williams in action during Swansea Capital One Cup semi-final goalless draw with Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge. Wenger is reportedly willing to bolster the sloppy Arsenal defense with one or two quality players as his side has conceded too much goals this season due to the defender’s mistakes.

The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers like no-one else knows the ability of the £8million-rated player whom he has been working with at Swansea for two years. Rodgers has promised not to lure his former players in the course of his first season at Liverpool. That is why he is likely to wait until the summer before making a move for the player.
