Manchester United praise Alex Ferguson’s 26-year tenure with a statue

Manchester United will mark Alex Ferguson’s 26th year at the helm of the team with unveiling a statue to their supremo.

The event will take place at Old Trafford stadium on November 23 ahead of the forthcoming match with Queens Park Rangers who were the first home opponents for the United stalwart in his 26-year spell at the club. The monument will be set up near the entrance to the stand named in honour of the far famed Scot last year. The club will also be unveiling new photos and illustrations in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand to commemorate his honours and achievements for his United tenure.

Sir Alex Chapman Ferguson took over the reins at Manchester United on 6 November 1986. He has established himself as Britain’s legendary coach having led the Red Devils to 12 Premier League wins, two European Cup trophies, four League and five FA Cups.
