Monaco on the verge of signing Porto Moutinho and Rodriguez

Porto winger James Rodriguez confirmed he is on course of leaving Estádio do Dragão, with French moneybags Monaco cited as his point of destination.

Fellow midfielder Joao Moutinho, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham in January, is close to join Ranieri’s side as well.

Monaco, owned by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, have recently won Ligue 1 promotion and are expected to win Champions League qualification. With this ambitious aim in view they are prepared to table around €70million for Porto pair in order to add dynamics and creativity to their midfield. The French media claim the deal is all but completed as both players were spotted at the club’s training complex on Thursday’s.

Rodriguez admitted he is ready to part ways with Porto, saying: “Honestly, I think I’ll go. I am not sure of the timing, but I think I’ll leave. A player always want to look ahead and play for a bigger club. Porto is a great club, but there are even more important (clubs) and I want to continue and to achieve things. If I stay I’ll be happy, but if I go my heart will be with Porto.”
