New Real Madrid boss Ancelotti claims Manchester United target Ronaldo is key man for the team
New Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti ended the rumours linking team’s superstar Cristiano Ronaldo with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu, insisting the Portuguese remains a key man for the team.
La Liga giants have confirmed the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti earlier this week and the Italian revealed his excitement at the challenge ahead.
Ancelotti has to resolve several issues during the initial stages of his management career at Santiago Bernabeu, and one of them is the speculation over Ronaldo’s future, with the latest reports suggesting the player could be on his way to Manchester United or PSG.
But Ancelotti made it clear he does not plan to part ways with Real Madrid star, insisting Ronaldo is key to his plans. He said: “My opinion is easy. Ronaldo’s a fantastic, marvellous player. It’s an honour to coach a player like Ronaldo like it was to coach Zidane.
“Ronaldo was not on the list of players like Brazilian Ronaldo, Zidane and Ronaldinho that I coached. He will be on the list of players I coached now and I am so happy for that.”
